Students At Hudson Valley Middle School Asked To Create 'Runaway Slave' Ad Parents and school administrators at a middle school in Westchester were caught off guard by a recently distributed extra credit assignment that invoked 19th Century slavery. A photo of an assignment given to students at the Port Chester Middle School, in which they would have to create a “runaway slave ad” has gone viral on Facebook, and has drawn the ire of local parents and school administrators. Bowl For College Scholarships: Byron Womack Fundraiser This Weekend Friends, students and teaching associates of Byron Womack, a very popular assistant principal at Port Chester Middle School, have organized a singles bowling tournament in his memory. Womack was found dead on Feb. 20 at the age of 48 of natural causes. All proceeds from the bowling tournament will go to the Byron Womack Scholarship Fund. He was 49 years old. Details about funeral services have not been announced, but counseling is being offered to students and staff at PCMS, which is in session this week.
