Woman Accused Of Assault Leads Stony Point Police Blotter

STONY POINT, N.Y. – Stony Point police made several arrests in May, accusing six people of minor traffic and drug crimes and one of misdemeanor assault.

Dania Ruiz, 29, of 2710 Morris Ave., Bronx, was arrested May 5 after surrendering to authorities on an arrest warrant charging her with misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, according to police. Ruiz was released after posting $250 cash bail, according to police.

During a traffic stop May 19, authorities arrested Peter J. Duffy, 22, of 36 Jones Drive, Garnerville. Duffy, who is accused of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.07 percent – just under the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent – was accused of driving while ability impaired by alcohol, an infraction, according to police. Duffy was released without bail. He is to appear in Town Court June 16.

Luis Abreu-Rodriguez, 44, of 6 Eakman Drive, Garnerville, was arrested during a traffic stop May 2, according to police. Abreu-Rodriguez was found to have been driving with a license that was suspended for failing to answer a summons, according to police. He was accused of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and released without bail, according to police. He is to appear in Town Court June 7.

Emmanuel Puente, 25, of Broad Street, Haverstraw, was arrested May 10 after investigators found an unspecified amount of marijuana in his car, according to authorities. Puente was accused of unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was released without bail and is to appear in Town Court June 7.

Jennifer DePaola was arrested May 3 on an arrest warrant accusing her of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, according to police. She was taken to the Rockland County jail on $500 bail, according to police. 

Alex Gonzalez, 37, of West Broad Street, Haverstraw, was accused May 12 of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended registration, according to police. He also was arrested on a bench warrant, according to police. Gonzalez was released on $250 bail. He is to appear in Town Court June 16.

Bankole D. Salu, 24, of 15 Johnson Drive, Stony Point, was charged May 8 with unlawful possession of marijuana and released without bail. According to authorities, Salu is to return to court June 16.
