Stony Point Police Arrest Suspect On Theft, Stolen Property Charges

STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Stony Point police have arrested a 29-year-old resident of Orange County on theft, possession of stolen property and drug charges.

The arrest came from a police investigation of a theft from Walgreens, police report.

The inquiry revealed that the suspect, identified as Michael Pagani of Westtown, allegedly removed numerous items from the store without paying for them, according to officials.

Further investigation revealed that Pagani was wanted on two active bench warrants out of Middletown on similar charges, police report.

He was also found to be in possession of clonzepram, according to officials.

Pagani was arrested on Saturday, May 7, police report.

He faces multiple charges, including: petty larceny; criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree; criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree; grand larceny in the fourth degree; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree; and false personation, police report.

After processing, the suspect was released on an appearance ticket returnable on Tuesday, June 7, according to officials.

He was then turned over to the Middletown Police Department to answer charges associated with the bench warrants, police report.
