Jason Polanco, who records show has a criminal history, was charged with five counts of attempted murder of a police officer, robbery and carjacking after detectives grabbed him as he got off a No. 6 train off E. Tremont Avenue in the Westchester Square section of the Bronx, about four miles from the shooting scene, just before 1 o’clock this afternoon.
No fewer than 10 tipsters led detectives to him, authorities confirmed.
Also in custody on robbery charges was Joshua Kemp, who police said went to New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital last night with a gunshot wound caused by Polanco. The bullet went through his biceps and struck an officer, authorities said.
The NYPD released video this morning of a man they said is Polanco shooting at a quintet of 46th Precinct officers investigating an armed robbery at a deli on E. 180 St. near Webster Avenue as they frisked Kemp outside a Chinese restaurant several blocks away.
Officer Andrew Dossi, 30, was struck in the arm and back, and nine-year veteran Officer Aliro Pellerano, 38, of Garnerville, N.Y., in the arm and abdomen, the NYPD said. Both were reportedly doing fine this afternoon.

The 46th Precinct anti-crime officers were among five whose shifts had just ended when they rushed to the robbery call around 10:30 p.m., New York Police Commissioner William Bratton said.
Ten minutes later, they spotted Polanco, who had three prior arrests, and Kemp, who had 10, near the Chinese restaurant on 184th Street and Tiebout Avenue.
As they began frisking Kemp, Polanco — who’d entered the restaurant and apparently bought an iced tea — ran to the door, began firing through the window and then continued unloading from point-blank range as he rushed outside.

Both officers were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where Dossi — a Stony Point resident who joined the NYPD eight years ago this coming Saturday — underwent surgery.
Polanco and Kemp then carjacked a Camaro with two women inside that later crashed at E. 188th Street and Park Avenue, authorities said.
The pair then ran off, they said.
The weapon was recovered a block away, Bratton said (see photo).
A short time later, Kemp showed up at the hospital.
COP SHOT posted a $20,000 cash reward and CrimeStoppers $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the gunman.
Morning statement from NYC Police Commissioner William Bratton:
“At approximately 10:35 p.m., two police officers from the 46 Precinct Anti-Crime Unit were shot and wounded at east 184th Street near Tiebout Avenue in the Bronx. The officers, who were part of a five-member plain clothes Anti-Crime team, were searching for suspects wanted for an armed robbery which occurred ten minutes earlier at a grocery store located at 363 East 180th Street.
“Near the corner of East 184th Street, the officers observed two possible suspects. As they approached them, one of the suspects entered a Chinese Restaurant on Tiebout Avenue while the other suspect remained outside on the street. As two of the officers approached the male on the street, the other suspect inside of the store came out and fired upon the officers. The officers returned fire, and during the exchange, two anti-crime officers were wounded. The two suspects then fled on foot one block east to Marion Avenue, where they carjacked a white Camaro. That vehicle was subsequently found abandoned near east 188th Street and Park Avenue. A black revolver was also recovered nearby.
“We are currently investigating if the suspect who fired upon the officers was also involved in the prior robbery. Shortly after the shooting incident investigators were notified of a male who entered Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in upper Manhattan with a gunshot wound to his back. Detectives are currently investigating any possible connection to this incident. The suspects wanted for the shooting of the officers are described as two male Hispanics approximately 25-30 years old wearing dark clothing. One of the suspects has a close cropped full beard.
“One of the suspects may have been wounded. We are currently reviewing video footage from both locations and will provide additional information as it becomes available. The two wounded police officers are being treated here at St Barnabas Hospital. One, a 30 year old male, suffered gunshot wounds to the left arm and the lower back and he is currently in the operating room and is listed in critical condition. The other officer is 38 years old; he was shot in the chest and left arm and is listed in stable condition.”
