Suspect Arrested In Connection With Westchester Shooting
A man was taken into federal custody following an investigation into a shooting that sent one person to the hospital last year. Calvin Smith Jr. was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 14, on a warrant charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Greenburgh Police Department. Police said the arrest came after an investigation by Greenburgh Police and the FBI's Westchester Safe Streets Task Force. Thousands of pounds of smoked pork barbecue products shipped to schools are being recalled due to possible listeria contamination. Tennessee-based Nick's Famous Bar-B-Q is recalling approximately 3,140 pounds of ready-to-eat smoked pork barbecue products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. With both New Jersey and Connecticut now meeting the criteria to be added to what had been a tristate travel advisory, New York is now discouraging non-essential travel to and from those neighboring states, as well as Pennsylvania.
