Covid-19: New Rochelle Schools Going Hybrid, District Employees Object
While most schools in Westchester will be returning from the holiday break and learning remotely, at least one district is bucking that trend and will be going to its hybrid model, much to the chagrin of some of its employees.
When students in New Rochelle return to class on Monday, Jan. 4, those in grades 4 through 8 will return to the district's full-hybrid model, joining the younger students.
At the high school, the Alternative Campus School will return to the hybrid model on Monday, Jan. 11, and the rest of the school will follow on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Covid-19: 253 New Deaths Reported In New York As Statewide Cases Hit 66,497
There has been 253 new novel coronavirus (COVID-19)-related deaths in New York as the number of confirmed cases climbed to 66,497 statewide.
At his daily news briefing on Monday, March 30, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that there have now been 1,218 deaths in New York tied to COVID-19, with 9,517 currently hospitalized. Of those hospitalized, 2,325 are in the ICU. Since the outbreak began, 4,204 patients have been hospitalized and have been discharged.

There have been 7,377 more confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in New York, bringing the total statewide to 44,635, tops in the nation.
New York remains the state most plagued by the virus, with 44,635 cases that resulted in 519 deaths, up from 385 the day before. New Jersey has the next most confirmed cases with 6,876, followed by California (4,060), Washington (3,208), and Michigan (2,878).

Covid-19: Hospitals Ordered To Increase Bed Capacity 50 Percent; NY Secures Emergency Supplies
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is ordering area hospitals to increase their capacity for beds by a minimum of 50 percent each as they prepare for a spike in cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the coming weeks.
Cuomo also announced that the state has been busy and successful in securing emergency supplies for hospital workers, including 339,760 N-95 masks; 861,700 surgical masks; 353,500 gloves; 145,122 gowns and 197,085 face shields. (See second image above.)

NY Covid-19 Cases Surpass 10,000 As Cuomo Unveils Measures For Adding Hospitals, Equipment
As New York State has surpassed 10,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced measures to increase hospital capacity and acquire vital equipment such as ventilators and masks.
A total of 10,356 have now tested positive in New York. With 45,437 tests having been done in the state, 22.7 percent of those tests have been positive.
