Man Hospitalized After Being Hit In Head By Bat On Halloween In Hudson Valley An area man was seriously injured after being hit in the head with a bat on Halloween. The incident took place around 8:45 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31 on Fountain Place, in Poughkeepsie, said the City of Poughkeepsie Poice. When police arrived on the scene of the attack, they found a man who had been struck in the head with a baseball bat, police said. Officers immediately rendered aid and secured the scene for Mobile Life.  The victim was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital and was admitted for treatment.  Crime Scene technicians responded to the scene to collect evidence. Four Found Dead In Westchester Home Four people were found dead in a home in Northern Westchester on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 5. Police were called to perform a welfare check at 1:50 p.m. by the Pleasantville Union Free School District when two of those found dead, students in the district, did not show up for school. Longtime Detective In Hudson Valley Dies Unexpectedly At 51 Aloysius F. McMahon of West Nyack, a longtime Rockland County detective, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 13. He was 51. McMahon was with the Rockland County Sheriff's Office and Corrections Division for 29 years, beginning in corrections in1989, and moved to the Patrol Division as an officer in 1996.  He worked for the Rockland County Drug Task Force from 1998 to 1999 before becoming a well-known and respected crime scene detective in 1999 to present.
