ID Released For Man Struck, Killed After Being Hit By Car In Westchester
A Rye volunteer firefighter has been identified by police as the man who was fatally struck by a car in Port Chester last week. Richard Cadigan, who was a member of the Rye Fire Department for nearly two decades, was struck at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, police said. The incident is believed to be accidental in nature. Cardigan was taken to Westchester Medical Center, but on Friday, Feb. 1, the Port Chester Police Department announced that he had died. Worker Killed After Falling Into Mixing Machine At Area Cheese Company
A 41-year-old man was killed after falling into a mixing machine at the Icco Cheese Company in Rockland County. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the plant on Olympic Drive in Orangeburg, said Orangetown Police Sgt. James Sullivan. When officers arrived on the scene of the accident they were directed to a mixing machine where they found a male employee, Edwin Nunez, of Paterson, New Jersey, inside of the machine, Sullivan said. School Buses Burst Out In Flames In Westchester
Buses burst out in flames in a bus lot in Armonk for the second time this school year. The Armonk Fire Department was dispatched to the area of the bus garage on MacDonald Avenue Friday evening at about 8 p.m. The first unit arrived on the scene immediately and confirmed two small school buses fully involved with multiple cars parked nearby, the Armonk Fire Department said. Man Injured After Train Hits Car In Area
One person was injured after a northbound CSX train hit a car Saturday morning in West Nyack. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the Pineview Road crossing, Clarkstown Police said. The male driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to Nyack Hospital with minor injuries, police said. The investigation will continue to determine the cause of the accident, according to police.

Car Crashes Off Road In Westchester
A motorist managed to escape injuries in a single-vehicle overnight crash in which a car went off the road in Northern Westchester. It happened around 4:15 a.m. Saturday on the 60 block of Grant Street, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. The vehicle left the roadway before coming to a stop against a tree, the department said. The driver not injured and declined medical treatment. CFD units remained on scene while a local tow truck removed the car. Croton EMS, Ossining Paramedic Unit and Croton Police also responded.

A motorist had to be removed from a vehicle after crashing into a storefront in Westchester on Monday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. when a sedan reportedly crashed into Broadway Medical Services on South Broadway in Yonkers. First responders were forced to extricate the driver, whose condition was not immediately available on Monday morning. Police are reporting that an 88-year-old Hudson Valley resident who was clearing snow was hit and killed by a falling tree as one of the largest storms to hit the area in years moved through the area.
