NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The College of New Rochelle sophomore center Jasmine Brandon was named player of the week by the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) and the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I).
On the week, the center averaged 32.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 58.3% from the field.
Brandon's signature game of the week came against Yeshiva University in the championship of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Tournament. The sophomore poured in a school record 45 points to go along with 17 rebounds and three steals en route to tournament MVP honors.
The Blue Angels are off to a 6-1 start to the season, the teams best record to this point in the season since 1984-85.
