NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. About 750 Latino high school students gathered Wednesday to celebrate their heritage, learn about life and look at all Monroe College has to offer.
Students from throughout the tri-state area heard from Monroe admissions staff; keynote speaker Miguel Montes, who is a former SUNY vice chancellor of Hispanic student affairs, a motivational speaker, college applications expert and author; and La Bruja, a performance artist, rapper, poet, singer and motivational speaker.
Students were also given tours of campus and were served an early lunch.
