NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. New Rochelle High School will hold an Hispanic Parent Night information session and series of workshops Thursday.
"It has been our pleasure to host the Hispanic Parent Night for at least the past 20 years, New Rochelle High School Principal Don Conetta said in a statement.
The evening provides an opportunity for families to gain new insight and information regarding curriculum, college readiness and admissions, as well as about parenting in general. The workshops, conducted in both Spanish and English, will cover key areas important to parents of any high school student.
Creating positive and open lines of communication between home and school is critical to the success of each student, Conetta said.
The tradition of Hispanic Parent Night at New Rochelle High School has taken on new significance in recent years as Hispanic students make up the largest ethnic group at the school, at almost 38 percent of the student body.
Two other large populations make up the rest of the student body -- white students at 30 percent and black students at 28 percent, according to a press release from City of New Rochelle School District Communications and Media Specialist Paul Costiglio.
