College of New Rochelle Honors Service Students

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Four College of New Rochelle students were recipients with the Serviam Award for outstanding community service during CNR's Founder's Day late last week.

“Today’s recipients join previous Serviam Award recipients by exemplifying the Gospel call to help those in need: feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, sheltering the stranger, clothing the naked, visiting the imprisoned and the sick," said Vice President for Mission and Identity Dr. Joan E. Bailey. "It is by service to those in need that humanity will find the road to peace,” she said.

The annual awards honor students who best embody the Ursuline philosophy (I will serve) and support the college's mission of education for service according to a press release from CNR.. The time of recognition was also established by the Ursuline Institute and continued by CNR.
