Ex-New Rochelle Veteran LaMagna Dies at 82

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Anthony J. LaMagna, a former longtime resident of New Rochelle, died March 23. He was 82.  

LaMagna was born July 28, 1929 in Bronx, N.Y. to the late John and Lillian (Pumilia) LaMagna. He was a retired printer and an Army veteran having served during the Korean War. Most recently of Carmel, N.Y., LaMagna volunteered for four years at Putnam Hospital.  

He was predeceased by his wife the former Jean Sperano in 2008. LaMagna is survived by his daughters Susan (Salvatore) Grasso and Sandra Mancuso and her partner Susan, four grandchildren and a great-grandson. 

Visiting hours are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Name Church in New Rochelle. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery in New Rochelle.
