Nearly 20 restaurants in the city will be offering a 3 course price fixe dinner for $25 and special menus from July 8-11.
Recent 2013 Best of Westchester winner Alvin and Friends Restaurant is included among them. Owner Alvin Clayton’s Southern contemporary and Caribbean fusion cuisine has gained this local gem some serious attention in recent months.
Clayton prides himself on not only offering great food and service, but also a unique ambiance.
“First of all, we offer a cuisine that is not over saturated in Westchester. I really try to make the title ‘Alvin and Friends,’ a reality. I want customers to feel that when they come in, they’re visiting a friend and coming to a welcoming place. People dine and then check out the art like a museum,” he said.
For Restaurant Week, customers can expect a choice of clam bisque soup, house salad, or Caesar salad as a first course.
For the entrées, there will be fried chicken with creamy macaroni and cheese and collard greens; and fried catfish with grits, black-eyed peas, and lemongrass remoulade.
Polish the meal off with a decadent flourless chocolate cake with a milk chocolate ganache.
When you’re done paying the check, you can wander around and check out Clayton’s unique artworks, which adorn the walls.
The restaurant has recently relocated to a larger space at 14 Memorial Highway, New Rochelle. Outdoor dining and private rooms are available. Alvin and Friends Restaurant takes all major credit cards.
Parking can be found nearby at the public library, and there is valet parking on weekends.
