Banks wrote "Soar: How Boys Learn, Succeed and Develop Character" and will speak with students and lead College Resource Night for black students the same evening at New Rochelle High School.
The community is invited to attend the panel discussion "Quién Eres Tu?: A Shared History in the Americas" on Feb. 11. The panel discussion, in partnership with MBK New Rochelle, takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Linda E. Kelly Theater
Students in grades 9 through 12 are invited to participate in a week-long Alvin Ailey Dance Intensive during the mid-winter recess from Feb. 16 through 20. at House 4 Dance Studio from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The intensive will culminate with a presentation in the Whitney M. Young Auditorium from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The Spoken Word and Art Exhibit will showcase live student performances, authors selling and signing their books and vendors selling African arts and crafts on Feb. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Whitney M. Young Auditorium.
