The 2014 Women of Leadership Awards were given to five College of New Rochelle alumnae: Mercedes Ruehl, award-winning American theater, television and film actress; Patricia Tracey, vice president of Homeland Security and Defense Services, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services U.S., Public Sector; Sister Alice Gallin, OSU, (Order of St. Ursula), educator, scholar and historian; Ellen Mooney Hancock, former chairman and chief executive officer of Exodus Communications; and Aulana Pharis Peters, retired partner of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and former commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Elizabeth Bracken-Thompson, partner with Thompson & Bender, was the emcee for the event.
“The College of New Rochelle and its Board of Trustees were honored to present the 2014 Women of Leadership Awards to five women who have made extraordinary contributions in each of their fields and who exemplify the same visionary leadership, perseverance and charisma as Sr. Dorothy Ann Kelly,” said Judith Huntington, president of the college . Proceeds from the gala benefited the Sister Dorothy Ann Kelly Scholarship Fund. Kelly was the 11th president of the college.
