A missing Long Island man has been found, according to Nassau County Police. 

The announcement came just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9. No further information was released.

Charles Ford had last been seen in West Hempstead on Sunday, May 7. Because the 58-year-old man has dementia, it was believed that he may have been in need of medical attention.

The West Hempstead man has dementia, authorities said.

Charles Ford, age 58, was reported missing and may be in need of medical attention, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse.

Ford was last seen on Hempstead Avenue at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 7.

He is described as a Black male, standing five-foot-eleven, 225 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes.

Ford was last seen wearing a blue jacket with a red stripe, burgundy shirt, and blue sneakers.

Authorities said he has gold teeth and a scar from his head to his chin.

His destination is unknown.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have information on Ford’s whereabouts to call Nassau County Police Department Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or 911.

All calls will be kept anonymous.
