The incident occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 13 in Valley Stream, according to Nassau County Police.

It was about 10 p.m. when a trio of girls — one of which was underage — approached a 37-year-old man at the Shell Station located at 100 West Merrick Road.

Police said the group demanded the man get out of his white 2017 Kia Sportage. He refused, and a scuffle ensued.

During the struggle, the man was stabbed in the middle of his back.

The trio got into his car and drove off, heading eastbound on West Merrick Road.

Police later found the car in a parking lot on Franklin Avenue, where they arrested 20-year-old Laychelle Robinson and 19-year-old Arianna Smith.

The third suspect, who was not named because of their age, had gotten out of the car and fled the scene. She was located by police a few blocks away near the intersection of Lincoln Street and Van Buren Avenue.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.

All three alleged robbers are charged with:

  • Robbery, first-degree;
  • Robbery, second-degree, two counts;
  • Grand larceny; and
  • Criminal possession of a weapon.

They are due to be arraigned at Hempstead’s First District Court on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
