Bacteria Counts Caused Closure
Bacteria Counts Caused Closure Wildwood State Park in Wading River has reopened to swimmers following a one-day prohibition due to high bacteria counts. The park was closed to bathing Wednesday, July 17, according to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. On Thursday, July 19 park officials said conditions have improved so that state standards for beach water quality are being met and current conditions at the beach are satisfactory for swimming.
