Long Island Woman Killed, Father, Daughter Seriously Injured In Crash
Police are investigating a fatal crash at a Long Island intersection. It happened Friday, March 25 at around 5:20 p.m. in Dix Hills. The victim was driving a 2019 Nissan SUV westbound on Vanderbilt Parkway at Village Hill Drive, when the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head on with an eastbound 2006 Honda sedan, Suffolk County Police said. Volvo announced it is recalling hundreds of thousands of vehicles that may potentially have faulty airbags that could be fatal in the event of a crash. The automaker announced that it is recalling 460,769 older model cars - more than 250,000 of which were sold in the US - that could be potentially deadly if a driver crashes. One Killed In Four-Vehicle Crash On Busy Nassau County Roadway
One person was killed in a four-vehicle crash on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 in North Valley Stream in the vicinity of Franklin Avenue and Corona Avenue. A 2004 Volvo SUV was traveling southbound on Franklin Avenue when the operator lost control of the vehicle and struck an occupied vehicle stopped at a traffic light, Nassau County Police said. Volvo is recalling more than a half-million vehicles worldwide due to a faulty engine component that could potentially result in a fire.
