Car Crashes Into Train On Tracks In East Rockaway, Suspending

At least one person was injured when a car plowed into a train in East Rockaway, causing a service nightmare for commuters. The crash took place around 3:38 p.m. at Forest Avenue and Rocklyn Avenue, said the Nassau County Police. Police said a driver hit a train, but were still at the scene and did not have much information regarding the extent of injuries. A person was transported to a local hospital overnight after being struck by a train near the LIRR station in Patchogue, the MTA said. First responders were dispatched to the Patchogue station near the Ocean Avenue and Division Street intersection shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday, July 12, for reports of a person who had been struck by a non-passenger work train, an MTA spokesperson said. Service Suspended After Train Hits Tractor-Trailer
LIRR service has been suspended in both directions on the Ronkonkoma line after a train hit a tractor-trailer in Farmingdale early Wednesday evening, May 8.
