Woman Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into Valley Stream Home
A woman was hospitalized after her car left the roadway and slammed into a Long Island home overnight following a two-vehicle crash. The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. Friday, March 15 in Valley Stream. The 30-year-old operating a 2015 Infiniti was involved in a collision with a 2013 Honda operated by a 65-year-old man at the intersection of Green Street and Ash Street, Nassau County Police said. A woman tasked with caring for a developmentally disabled Long Island man could spend more than a decade behind bars after allegedly stealing his money and leaving him living in filth. Gina D’Amore, age 57, of Levittown, was arraigned on multiple charges in Nassau County Court on Friday, Dec. 16, including grand larceny and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person. Swimming Reopens At Hempstead Beach After Multiple Shark Sightings
Swimmers can dip their toes back in the water on Long Island, at least up to their knees, after two 6-foot sharks were spotted earlier in the day. The sharks were spotted at Hempstead Beach around 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 19. According to Town of Hempstead Supervisor Don Clavin, the town has been using drones, and lifeguards on jet skis to scan for sharks after an unusual number of sightings due to warmer waters. A man has died from injuries suffered in a crash on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened just before 5 a.m. Friday, July 23 in Cedarhurst. A busy office building in the Town of Hempstead was forced to close its doors due to a bed bug infestation. Areas of the office building at 200 N. Franklin Ave. in Hempstead were off-limits to employees earlier this week after they first started spotting the creepy crawlers lurking around on Wednesday, June 10.
