It happened around 1:50 p.m. on Independence Day in Suffolk County in the Village of Quogue (marked in red in the image above). According to Lt. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 3:55 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, on Hill Circle in Calverton. According to Suffolk County Police detectives, Preston Gamble, age 15, of Calverton, was involved in an altercation between two groups of teenagers and young adults when he was shot. Covid-19: New Testing Sites Opening On Long Island As COVID-19 infections spike across Long Island several new testing sites will open to help with long lines and to prevent exposures. Beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 28, Northwell Health has opened drive-thru sites in Suffolk and Nassau counties.  In Nassau County, the site will be held at  Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn. Man Drowns At Long Island Beach Police are investigating the drowning death of a man that happened at a Long Island beach overnight. Two men who were swimming in the water at Smith Point Beach in Shirley were struck by a large wave just before 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, Suffolk County Police said.  One of the men made it back to the shore and the other was pulled out into the water. Members of the United States Coast Guard and members of the Mastic Beach Fire Department pulled the victim from the water.
