Police Investigate After Gunshots Fired In Broad Daylight At Occupied Vehicle On Long Island Authorities asked the public for information after gunshots were fired at an occupied vehicle on Long Island. Police responded to a report of gunshots in Riverhead at a location in the area of Doctor's Path north of Northville Turnpike at about 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, the Riverhead Town Police Department reported on Saturday, Oct. 29. Officers learned that gunshots were fired from a moving gray four-door sedan into an occupied and parked vehicle, police said. No injuries were reported, authorities said. 26-Year-Old Killing In Single-Vehicle Long Island Crash Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that happened overnight on Long Island. Police responded to the crash scene at around midnight on Sunday, Feb. 27 in Riverhead, on Sound Avenue near Northville Turnpike.  The responding patrol units located the vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree, Riverhead Police said.  The sole occupant of the vehicle was the operator, Ryan Dupuis, age 26, of the hamlet of Aquebogue in Riverhead, police said.
