Covid-19: 39 New Fatalities Bring Long Island's Death Toll To 273 With 24,716 Positive Cases Thirty-nine deaths related to the novel strain of the coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported on Long Island over the last 24 hours. A total of 28 of the fatalities were in Suffolk County and 11 in Nassau County, both county executives - Suffolk's Steve Bellone and Nassau's Laura Curran - reported on Saturday afternoon, April 4. The death toll is now 124 in Suffolk and 149 in Nassau for a total of 273 casualties. A total of 3,565 have now died of COVID-19 in New York, with 2,624 of the deaths in New York City.
