On Thursday, Oct. 12 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Exit W4E from the northbound Wantagh State Parkway to the eastbound Southern State Parkway in Hempstead, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. During the closure, drivers are advised to continue north on Wantagh Parkway to Exit W3W for State Route 24 (Hempstead Turnpike) westbound. At approximately 2:20 a.m., the driver of a 2005 Nissan SUV was purportedly speeding down the turnpike, heading east. Kevin Colon, 32, and Mario Perez, 31, both of Rockaway, Queens, were arrested around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, during the stop in Levittown on the Hempstead Turnpike, said the Nassau County Police.
