White Shark Tracking East After Pinging Off Long Island Coast
A large white shark apparently loves Long Island and New England and has decided to stay awhile.
For the second time in a one-week span, Frosty has pinged in the Atlantic, and it's apparently moving east.
Measuring 9-feet, 2 inches, and weighing 393 pounds, Frosty pinged south of Hampton Bays at around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, May 13, according to the non-profit Ocearch group.
A new ping was reported on Sunday, May 21 at about 4:30 a.m. in between Block Island and Martha's Vineyard. (See the first image above.)

The death of a 26-year-old Connecticut resident from fentanyl poisoning at a bachelor party in the state of Florida has led to the arrest of an Alabama man on murder charges.
John Nabors, 26, of Mountain Brook, Alabama, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 30 for the incident that killed Fairfield County resident Thomas "Tom" Gleason of Ridgefield.

Woman Rescued After Sailboat Overturns On Long Island
A woman was rescued from the waters off Long Island after her Sunfish sailboat capsized.
The incident took place in Southampton around 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 in Peconic Bay near Robbins Island.
The woman, Barbara Gilman, age 56, from Georgia, was able to call for help, and Southampton Patrol Units, Southampton Marine Patrol, US Coast Guard, and state police boat responded along with Southampton and North Sea Fire Departments and Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, said Lt. Georgia Men Accused Of Trafficking Dozens Of Handguns Into NY, Including Long Island, Feds Say
Two Georgia men are facing federal charges for allegedly transporting dozens of handguns into New York, authorities said.
Patrick Polidore, age 32, was arraigned in federal court on Long Island Wednesday, Sept. 28 in Central Islip on an 11-count indictment alleging that he and co-defendant Dennis Wolfolk, age 29, illegally brought 27 handguns into the state.
Wolfolk is in federal custody in Georgia and will be brought to the Eastern District of New York for arraignment at a later date, according to the US Attorney's Office.

A former Yale University School of Medicine employee has admitted to stealing $40 million in computer and electronic hardware from the university.
Jamie Petrone, age 42, pleaded guilty on Monday, March 28, to wire fraud and filing a false tax return, according to Leonard Boyle, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Petrone is a former resident of Naugatuck in New Haven County, and she currently resides in Georgia, Boyle said.
