New Amazon Fresh Stores Set To Open On Long Island New grocery options are coming for consumers on Long Island as Amazon plans to expand its grocery store operation on the East Coast. The online retail giant reportedly has plans to open Amazon Fresh grocery stores on Nesconset Highway in East Setauket, on Long Beach Road in Oceanside, and on Manetto Hill Road in Plainview. In East Setauket and Oceanside, the Amazon Fresh locations will be replacing defunct former Waldbaum stores, and the Plainview spot is at the former Fairway Market.

Fairway Market Files For Bankruptcy, Plans To Sell Its Stores Fairway Market has announced it is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will sell up to five of its stores to ShopRite before selling its remaining 13 locations.  Fairway has markets in New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Fairfield counties. Know Them? Three Wanted For Ripping Off Woman's Wallet In Westbury, Police Say Police are asking the public for help identifying three people who allegedly stole a wallet out of a woman's purse while shopping and then used it to purchase items. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, when the victim was shopping at the Fairway Market in Westbury, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, the female victim, 60, attempted to pay for her merchandise and discovered her wallet was missing from her bag.  Police responded and viewed the store’s surveillance, which captured three people, two women, and a man, working together to remove …
