Suspect At Large After Breaking Into Long Island Home, Barricading Himself Inside, Police Say A Long Island robbery suspect is on the run and police are asking the public's help in locating him. The Nassau County Police Department has issued an alert for the wanted man from Roosevelt who allegedly was caught on camera breaking into an area home last year before barricading himself inside, police said. Darwin Ortiz, 22, allegedly broke into a Mirin Avenue home in Roosevelt in June last year, Nassau County police said. He was caught red-handed by the homeowner, who alerted police to the break-in.
