Intoxicated Boater Nabbed After Crash At Nassau County Marina, Police Say Two men were hospitalized - and one arrested - on Long Island after an alleged boating while intoxicated incident in the Great South Bay, according to police. Police said that Patchogue resident William Brosveld, age 46, was operating a 2007 Century when he crashed into a jetty in the Great South Bay in Sayville at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 near Browns River Road. Suffolk County police investigators said that the crash left Brosveld and a passenger hospitalized at the Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue with non-life-threatening injuries. Man Charged With BWI In Long Island Boat Crash That Killed One, Injured Three An East Northport man has been charged with boating while intoxicated following a powerboat crash that left one woman dead and three others injured.  Francesco Distefano, 48, was charged on Monday, Nov. 11, following the Sunday, Nov. 10 crash that took place around 9:17 p.m. when a 39-foot Cobalt powerboat he was allegedly piloting smashed into a bulkhead fronting on Great Peconic Bay, Southhold Police said. Michael Camenzuli was operating a 1999 21 foot Sea Ray Express Cruiser in the waters west of Orowoc Creek, returning to the Bay Shore Marina, when he went off course at a high rate of speed and crashed into a bulkhead, launching the boat out of the water and onto land at approximately 11:37 p.m., according to police.
