Wrong-Way Long Island Driver Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Building A driver was allegedly drunk when he sideswiped a car before crashing into an apartment building on Long Island, police said. The incident happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23 in North Babylon. The 29-year-old man was driving a 2003 Ford E250 van north on Deer Park Avenue in the southbound lanes near Edmonton Drive, Suffolk County Police said. The driver then sideswiped a Nissan Altima before veering into a building on Springwood Drive, according to police.
