The incident happened around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 in New Hyde Park. Wyandanch resident Almalik Keller, age 43, was sentenced to 25 years behind bars Monday, Aug. 22, in Suffolk County Superior Court. It came nearly a month after a jury convicted him of first-degree assault stemming from a September 17, 2021 incident outside of a smoke shop. The incidents happened in Hempstead and Roosevelt on Friday, March 13 at 10:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 14 at 12:30 a.m., Nassau County Police said.
