Woman Stabs Man In Front Of Child At Manorhaven Home

A Long Island woman was charged with assault after allegedly stabbing a man in the leg during an altercation in front of their 11-month-old child.

Diana Alcivar Torres, age 27, of Manorhaven, was arrested on Wednesday, March 29 following the incident on Dunwood Road.

According to Nassau County Police Department detectives, around 2:40 p.m., Torres was involved in a verbal argument with a 28-year-old man in the presence of their 11-month-old child. 

Torres escalated the argument by grabbing a kitchen knife and stabbing the victim in the right leg, according to police.

Police said as the victim attempted to use his phone to call 911, Torres took the phone from his hand. 

The victim drove himself to a local area hospital for treatment of his injury, police added.

Torres was arrested at her home without incident.

She was charged with:

  • Assault
  • Endangering the welfare of a child
  • Criminal possession of a weapon

Torres will be arraigned on Thursday, March 30, in Hempstead.

The child is in the custody of a family member.
