New Update: Police Say Fatal Long Island Hit-Run Driver Was In Light-Colored Sedan

Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a speeding hit-and-run driver who killed a Long Island woman.

According to police, at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, a driver struck his victim at the intersection of West John Street and Kuhl Avenue in Hicksville. The driver then sped away in an unknown direction.

The Nassau County Police Department said that the driver was in a light-colored sedan, traveling east on West John Street at a high rate of speed when the pedestrian, Gladis Bonilla, 54 of Westbury was struck in the intersection.

Police said the driver then fled in an unknown direction. The hit-and-run crash resulted in the death of the driver’s victim.

The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
