According to investigators, a man was seen on surveillance video entering a Hillpark Avenue complex and entering the superintendent’s office at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Monday. Police said that the man allegedly then attempted to disarm the video system by cutting wires between the DVR and video monitor.
The suspect was caught exiting the building approximately six minutes later at 1:46 a.m.
Later, at 9:41 a.m., the same man allegedly came back to the apartment complex and was seen entering it, proceeding to the second floor and is believed to have committed multiple burglaries. In total, four separate apartments were broken into and cash or jewelry was removed from each.
The burglaries are under investigation. Detectives with the Nassau County Police Department said that anyone with information regarding the incident or who recognizes the suspect should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
