An Armonk homeowner received a scare when he returned home to find that lightning had struck his property. A Briggs Lane resident called the North Castle Police Department shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, when he noticed a hole in his backyard, which he believes to have been caused by a lightning strike in the area during this week’s thunderstorms. Man Found Dead Pinned Under Dodge Ram On Route 22
An investigation is underway after a 58-year-old Fairfield County man was found dead underneath a pickup truck in Dutchess County. New York State Police troopers responded to a 911 dispatch of a man pinned under a vehicle on Route 22 in the town of Pawling on Friday, June 1 just before 8 a.m. James C. Roberts of Danbury was trapped under a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck. Pawling Fire Department removed the vehicle, but Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene by EMStar Paramedics. Have you seen him? State Police are asking for the public's help in locating a teen who has gone missing from a residential facility for troubled young men from the New York area. At approximately 7:30 p,m. Saturday, March 31, state police received reports from staffers that Keener Mendez-Estaeban ran away from the Berkshire Farms Center in the Town of Canaan. Mendez-Estaeban is described as being 5-foot-6, 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. DWI Motorist Drove On Shoulder Of Route 22, Sheriff Says
A Pawling man was arrested for DWI after Putnam County Sheriff's deputies watched him drive on the shoulder of Route 22. Ryan C. Castle, 31, was arrested around 2:10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, when Deputy Sheriff Ronald Yeager observed a vehicle traveling south on the shoulder of Route 22 in the Town of Southeast, the department said. After stopping the vehicle, Yeager determined that Castle was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI with a BAC of .12%, and driving on the shoulder, deputies said. A carload of juveniles in a stolen car took police on a high-speed chase early Friday from the City of Poughkeepsie before being stopped in the Town of Amenia, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. A 32-year-old man is facing multiple charges after taking a Putnam County Deputy Sheriff on a high-speed chase in excess of 100 mph before coming to a crashing halt through a guardrail and into a pond. Detectives from the North Castle Police Department are on the lookout for a suspect that shattered several car windows without provocation at a busy Armonk sports complex. A man attempting to evade arrest while in possession of drugs and an illegal weapon was busted by state police troopers after losing control of his car during a chase and crashing on Route 22 in Dutchess County.
