Village Seeks $20M To Help Fix 'Outdated, Dilapidated' Main Route In Northern Westchester A village in Northern Westchester is urging state officials to allocate $20 million toward designing improvements for a busy main route that has fallen into disrepair.  In an announcement on Thursday, March 21, Briarcliff Manor village officials urged New York Gov. Dog Dies After Basement Blaze At Northern Westchester Residence A dog died following a blaze that began in the basement of a Northern Westchester home, firefighters said. The fire began on Thursday, March 7 just before 10:30 a.m. at a residence in Ossining on Somerstown Road, according to the Millwood Fire Department. Arriving crews soon found smoke coming out of the house and forced their way in, discovering that the main body of the fire was contained in the basement. Jose Fernando Palta has been missing since Sunday night, Dec 17, according to a Facebook post that was re-shared by Ossining town officials on Tuesday night, Dec. 19.  Palta was last seen near the Hudson River, his family said.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 845-200-9017.
