Students At Hudson Valley School Accused Of Racist Behavior At Athletic Event
For the second time in four months, students in a Hudson Valley school are in hot water for making alleged racist remarks toward student-athletes at an athletic event. In Rockland County, Pearl River students have been accused of racist behavior toward Nyack students during a modified track meet, similar to an incident that happened in February during a basketball game. School In Westchester Names New Principal
A Westchester school district has appointed a veteran educator to take over at the head of its lone elementary school as its newest principal. Following a lengthy search, the Bronxville Board of Education and Superintendent Roy Montesano announced that longtime Hudson Valley educator Joseph Mercora has been named as the elementary school principal. Possible Luring Incident Involving Child Walking To School Reported In Area
A man attempted to lure a minor into his Lincoln town car near an area middle school, police said. A student walking to Nyack Middle School at approximately 7:52 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6 reported that he was approached by a man near the intersection of Depew Avenue and Route 9W, according to the Orangetown Police Department. The student described the man as African American, in his 40s, with a medium complexion and beard.
