Westchester Community Foundation Names New Program Officer HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- The Hartsdale-based Westchester Community Foundation has appointed Tara Seeley as program officer. New Rochelle Teacher Picked For Marine Ecology Fellowship NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- A science teacher from Ursuline School in New Rochelle has been selected for an educational fellowship focused on sea turtles and marine ecology in Baja Mexico. Robyn Summa been selected by the non-profit organization Ecology Project International (EPI) to participate in an eight-day research and education fellowship. Summa will be immersed in the diverse ecology of the area, home to migrating grey whales and a thriving fishery. McDonald's In Downtown Bridgeport To Close Its Doors BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport-based company will be closing the doors to its downtown McDonald's on Main Street, across from the Holiday Inn, according to the Connecticut Post. Treft Corp., which owns 43 McDonald's in Connecticut and New York, will transfer all of the employees at this location to other locations, the Connecticut Post said. Mahopac Septo Metting To Give Parents Tools To Prepare for IEP Meeting MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- The Mahopac Special Education PTO meeting will feature a presentation on preparing for children's IEP meeting. Chrisanne Petrone, from the Hudson Valley Special Education Parent Center will provide parents with strategies and tools to prepare for their child’s CSE meeting. Parents will leave workshop with the tools to effectively participate in their child’s annual meeting and to better advocate for their child, as well as obtain valuable tips to getting organized.
