Greenwich Holiday Stroll Weekend Ushers In Christmas Season GREENWICH, Conn. — Residents got outside and caught the Christmas spirit at the eighth annual Greenwich Holiday Stroll Weekend, an event that encompassed all of downtown and uptown Greenwich. The event, presented by Whole Foods Market, took place Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4. Santa Trades Polar Express For Polar Plunge At Norwalk's Maritime Aquarium NORWALK, Conn. — Santa Claus may be acclimated to the icy climate of his home at the North Pole. But at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, he swims with the fishes — and the sharks. Family Mourns Danbury Woman, 26, Killed In Crash Of Stolen Car DANBURY, Conn. — Amanda Fitzgerald, whose sister, Tiffany Fitzgerald of Danbury, died in the crash of a stolen car driven by speeding driver, said the world has lost a “wonderful person.” In a Facebook message sent shortly after midnight Thursday, Amanda Fitzgerald wrote: “My sister was a wonderful person. She was sober, she was clean, she was a good-hearted person and she was taken advantage of. She trusted that guy to give her a ride to her job interview and he ran from the cops and killed her. Stratford Man Arrested In Robbery At Merritt Parkway Rest Area STRATFORD, Conn. — A Stratford man was in custody Thursday after he was arrested and charged in a robbery at a rest area on the Merritt Parkway in Orange several weeks ago, according to Connecticut State Police.James Walsh, 34, of 47 White St., Stratford, was charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny, state police said. Ridgefield To Raze Ruined House, Put Pocket Park In Its Place RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — Neighbors are welcoming the news that the eyesore house at 28 Catoonah St. in Ridgefield will finally be knocked down and a pocket park planned to go in its place. State Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed In New Fairfield Crash NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Connecticut State Police have identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a Dec. 1 crash involving a motor vehicle in New Fairfield. The driver of the Connecticut-licensed Kawasaki motorcycle was 32-year-old Carlos Alberto Robles Flores of 8 Corlola Lane, New Fairfield, state police said. The next of kin have been notified. Newtown Couple's Christmas Display Honors Sandy Hook Angel NEWTOWN, Conn. — On the front lawn of Rhonda and Chane Cullens’ home at 9 Founders Lane in Newtown sits a lit-up angel figurine alongside a series of 25 lights. This angel pays tribute to a little girl who lived near them who lost her life in the Sandy Hook School tragedy in 2012.
