Four-Alarm Displaces 80 Residents, Injures 17 Firefighters In Westchester
More than 80 residents were displaced and one resident and 17 firefighters injured during a four-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Westchester County. The fire started around 4 p.m., Sunday, May 23 on Maple Street in Yonkers. A large three-story Westchester home was destroyed by an early-morning fire due to poor water pressure conditions. The fire took place around 12:58 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, when the Yonkers Fire Department responded to a call for a fire at the home located at 423 Odell Ave., in Yonkers. Four Injured After Fire Breaks Out At Apartment Building In Westchester
Two residents received burns and two firefighters were injured during an early morning fire in Westchester. The fire started around 3:59 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at 2 Sherwood Terrace in Yonkers, said Chief Joseph Citrone. Upon arrival, crews found a large fire in a 1st-floor apartment of the 7-floor apartment building. Multiple civilians were on the fire escapes trying to escape the smoke, Citrone said. Three firefighters were injured battling a blaze in a Westchester home filled with clutter and junk. The fire took place around 3:56 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at a single-family home located on the 100 block of Scott Avenue in Yonkers, said Deputy Chief Joseph Citrone.
