The Westchester Medical Examiner did not released the official cause of death as of Thursday afternoon. Based on initial observations at the scene, Fiddes' death appeared to have been caused be a single gunshot wound to the head, police said. A shotgun was found next to his body, police said.
Greenburgh police received a call about the incident at 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Fiddes was pronounced dead at the scene.
This could be the second suicide in Greenburgh in five months after a man killed himself with a handgun on South Central Park Avenue on April 25.
