The arrest resulted from an incident that began in Yorktown on Tuesday, Jan. 23 around 1 p.m., when a theft happened at the Dick's Sporting Goods store in the Jefferson Valley Mall at 650 Lee Blvd., Yorktown Police announced on Tuesday, Jan. 30.  Responding officers soon conducted an investigation and were able to find the suspect's car. Lane Reduction Planned For Busy Roadway In Area A stretch of a busy roadway in the region will be reduced to a single lane in the coming days to facilitate roadway paving. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that motorists in Northern Westchester and Putnam counties should be aware that Route 9D between Manitou Station Road in Philipstown and Route 6 in Cortlandt will be reduced to a single lane with alternating traffic controlled by individuals with flags. The lane reduction will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16, officials said.

One Killed In Dutchess Crash Between School Bus, Vehicle, Police Say One person was killed during a crash between a school bus and a passenger car in the area. The crash took place around 1:34 p.m. on Route 9D at Red Schoolhouse Road in the Town of Fishkill, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. There were no children on the bus at the time of the crash. Police did not reveal if the person killed was on the bus or in the vehicle.
