Janice Laauwe, 68, Of Midland Park
MIDLAND PARK, N.J. — Janice Laauwe, 68, of Midland Park, died Oct. 20.
She was born in Paterson and lived in Hawthorne before moving to Midland Park in 1968.
Prior to her retirement, she was a secretary for State Soda in East Rutherford. She was a member of Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, where she participated in their Bible Study Groups and Church activities. She also was a volunteer at Ditto.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Laauwe; sons, Gregory Laauwe and David Laauwe; and sister, Linda Langford.

NORTH ROCKLAND, N.Y, -- Jane Adelaide Foley Drescher, 95, formerly of North Rockland, died July 30 at home in Monrovia, Calif. She was born, raised and lived in the Rockland County area until moving to California in the 1970s. She
earned her degree from Ladycliff College, formerly in Highland Falls.
She taught high school algebra at North Rockland High School until her retirement prior to moving West.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Kate and Logan.

LODI, N.J. -- Carmela Callazzo, 78, of Lodi, died Oct. 19.
Before retiring, she was a machine operator at Rain Craft in Garfield.
She was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Antoinette; and son, James.
She is survived by her son, Anthony and wife Katherine; and brothers, Dominick and Nicholas Sasso.

Alfred Peter Butti, 86, Of Norwood
NORWOOD, N.J. -- Alfred Peter Butti, 86, of Norwood, died Oct. 18. He was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Fairview, grew up in Cresskill and graduated from Tenafly High School.
Butti served as a U.S. Marine (1951-53) in the Korean War and saw action in the Battle of Pork Chop Hill. He was a Marine at heart until the day he passed and led every aspect of his life by the U.S. Marine Corps motto: Semper Fi. (“always faithful” or “always loyal”).

Robert J. Casey, 73, Of Dover
DOVER, N.J. -- Robert J. Casey, 73, of Dover, died Oct. 18. An audio-video entrepreneur, he learned his craft as a teen, being the first to use a two turntable DJ station in dances in the Yonkers, N.Y. area. His DJ station now resides at the Smithsonian Institution.
His U.S. Army service was as that of production manager for the Armed Forces Vietnam Network in Saigon in the 1960s working closely with the U.S.O. His Armed Forces broadcast from Times Square, New Year’s Eve, 1969 is reported to be the first worldwide broadcast simulcast on Radio Free Europe and the Voice of America.
