Northern Westchester's David Letterman Escorts Old 'Late Show' Sign To Darien Barn, Hangs Out Funnyman and beloved area resident David Letterman helped escort the old marquee sign from his famous television show "Late Night" to its new home in Fairfield County. Letterman, a longtime Northern Westchester County resident who lives in North Salem, didn't have far to travel to escort the 20-foot sign that once graced the front of the famed Ed Sullivan Theater for Dave's show on CBS, said the lucky recipient Preston Bealle, of Darien. Here's Where This Year's Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Will Be Coming From In NY State Now that Spooky Season has come and gone, attention is turning toward the holiday season and all of the festivities and traditions that go along with it, including New York’s iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. This year’s tree is an 82-foot tall Norway Spruce from upstate New York that was grown in Queensbury in Warren County, Rockefeller Center announced on Instagram Tuesday, Nov. 1. Christmas Tree From Hudson Valley To Be Lit Tonight At Rockefeller Center The day has finally arrived -- the annual lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree -- and for the second year in a row, one that hails from the Hudson Valley. The tree, which stands 77-feet tall and comes from the home of Carol Schultz of Florida, in Orange County, will burst into light during an entertainment-filled event running from 7 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4. The Norway spruce, which was planted in 1958, is decked out with 50,000 multi-colored LED lights and will be topped with a Swarovski star next week. The tree, in the village of Florida in Orange County, graced the front yard of Carol Schultz, who hugged the tree before the cutting began. It was cut down around 9 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7. Roberts, or "Poppy" as he was called by friends and family, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 22.  Born on May 10, 1945, in Lincoln, Neb., Kevin was the son of the late George E. Roberts and Cecelia Mahoney Roberts of Pleasantville.  He was a father to five, grandfather to four, one of seven siblings, and an uncle to countless nieces and nephews whose branches, roots and leaves grow throughout the Village of Pleasantville.  He typically graced the Black Cow, a popular coffee shop on Wheeler Avenue, where he was presented with an honorary desk name plate …
