Prices Plunge At Highlands Gas Stations After Price Gouging Accusations HIGHLANDS, N.Y. – Prices at two gas stations in Highlands are falling back closer to the local average one week after Assemblyman James Skoufis accused them of potential price gouging, according to the Times Herald-Record.  The stations in Highland Falls and in Fort Montgomery were both charging as much as $3.15 per gallon last week when Skoufis contacted the State Attorney General on the matter. State Police Find Vermont Driver With Crack, Heroin In New Windsor NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. – A Vermont man is facing several drug charges after being found with crack and heroin during a routine traffic stop on Tuesday morning.  Troopers pulled over Andrew Holden, 26, for an equipment violation and found the drugs during a probable cause search of the car, police said.  Holden was charged with: Felony criminal possession of a controlled substance Misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance Possession of a hypodermic instrument Holden was arraigned in Newburgh. California Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Van Into Newburgh Building NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Newburgh Police officers charged a 72-year-old California man with driving while intoxicated after they found his van crashed into a building on Broadway Sunday night.  The driver of the van, Jack Shaw, told officers he left Billy Joe's Rib Works on Front Street and was attempting to get to Hurricane Grill and Wings. Shaw was driving with a BAC of .11 percent without a valid license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, police said.  Shaw is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
