Cortlandt Manor Swimmer Earns Conference Honors

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Two female Pace swimmers earned conference honors last week for their performances in the pool .

Senior Cassandra Gentile from Cortland Manor was named Northeast-10 Conference Diver of the Week and freshman Hanna Oleksak was named Rookie of the Week by the conference.

The Setters defeated nationally ranked Bridgeport last week. In that meet, Gentile took first place in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events with scores of 213.45 and 262.40, respectively.

Oleksak finished first in three events in two dual meets last week. She won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.43 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:38.34 in a win against Adelphi. Oleksak won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:42.40 in the win against No. 23 Bridgeport.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Lynch made the Northeast-10 Honor Roll by earning four first-place finishes in two meets. She won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:23.52 and the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.95 in the win against Adelphi.

Against Bridgeport, she won the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard backstroke with times of 58.97 and 2:21.57, respectively.
