Shrub Oak Hornets beat White Plains, 24-0

SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- Trevor McCarthy had a touchdown run and kicked three extra points as the Shrub Oak Hornets Black team remained undefeated with a 24-0 win over the White Plains Tigers in a youth football game at Lakeland High School.

Shrub Oak, now 3-0 this season, is comprised of seventh- and eighth-graders. McCarthy had a one-yard touchdown run. The extra points are worth two points, according to Keith Maley, Pelham varsity softball coach and father of player, Keir Maley.

Joey DeLuca had a five-yard touchdown run and Keir Maley ran it in from 10 yards out.

The Hornets have not allowed a point this season. The defense was led by Kevin Prunty (middle linebacker), Armani Jurado and Michael Matheson (defensive tackles) and Keir Maley and Nicky Vasquez (defensive ends).
