Honorees Announced at Hudson Valley Hospital

Hudson Valley Hospital Center announced the honorees of their 31st Annual Empoyee Recognition Awards Ceremony. Some of the honorees, like Sue Tudor, have been servicing their community for as long as 45 years.

As the Hudson Valley Hospital Center moved from its old location on South Street in Peekskill to its current location off Route 202 in Cortlandt, Tudor was along for the ride. Tudor works in the finance department of the hospital, specifically patient accounting.

“She is so dedicated,” said Mark Webster, vice president of finance at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center, “that she has been known to go to people’s houses to get the paperwork for financial aid and Medicaid.”

Kathy Webster, vice president of Patient Services at the hospital and a registered nurse there for 35 years, was also honored. Kathy Webster “is universally respected by her peers at hospitals throughout the region, and she is an amazing communicator,’’ said John C. Federspiel, president of Hudson Valley Hospital Center. Webster also won the New York Times’ Tribute to Nurses Award in 2007.

Other honorees have worked at the hospital for as little as five years, and as many as Tudor. Some members of the devoted staff include Marion Macpherson, a 40-year member of the Food and Nutrition staff; Teresa Bissonette, a 35-year member of the hospital laboratory; Linda Kanojia, a 30-year member of the Intensive Care Unit; and Margaret Kivel, 25-year member of the Emergency Department.
