CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. Gloria L. Christie, of Croton-on-Hudson and formerly of Pleasantville, died April 23. She was 82.
Christie was born March 8, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Francis and Marie Logue. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia and worked as a stewardess for American Airlines in the early 1950s. Christie also worked as an executive secretary for IBM.
She married the late Samuel D. Christie in 1956 and raised a family in Pleasantville, where she lived the majority of her life. After her husband's death in 1997, Christie moved to Croton and volunteered at Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Christie is survived by two sons, James S. Christie, of Yorktown, and Thomas (Lesley) T. Christie, of Cary, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville. The family also will receive visitors before funeral services, at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at Hawthorne Reformed Church.
